Genesis:
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day....
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Not so long ago, it was just a dream we were all very excited about. Suddenly it is a plowed plot...(Thank you Mr. Martin...
and the fence posts are in, save the gate...
"I think the compost heap we can make like Dave did his...really, really big"... (The fish that got away?)
...a delivery of poopie-doopie...I think Laurel had something to do with that??...or her truck did anyway...
"Service isn't a prison sentence, it's a joy"...
Oh, my goodness, I can say that, I didn't move this mountain of rocks...
Tom and Vickie, I can't believe you heaved all those rocks. I've been there, that's hard work...
It still isn't prison if you're building a dream...right?
I hear it will be a barbeque someday...
"Do we have a watering system?", I asked....
"Oh, yes, isn't this great, it's plumbed already, all the way out to here"...
Oh, such a faithful servant...
"...and we can build little paths hear and there and little resting places, and we can install art, and....
...And we are going to plant these pipes vertically and fill them with dirt and plant them with plants so they will look just like a White Picket Fence. Don't you think?"
And so it was that God put it in our hearts to dig the dirt and scoop the poop and haul the rocks and build the dream of having a Community Garden where we can all share the benefit of the Grace that we have known.
We can hardly wait to see what happens next...
Stay tuned, you're all invited!
Happy, happy. Joy, joy!
